Audemat to complement its activity by offering turn-key solutions to its customers

Before this development, in January 2009, the APT activity was split in two: APT Ltd (broadcast equipment) and APT Licensing that will remain under the control of the historical shareholders. Located in Belfast, APT Ltd is the leading company in audio transport for broadcast professionals (Radio and TV broadcasters, Telecom operators).

For several years Audemat has been working towards providing turn-key solutions to its customers throughout the broadcast chain. The APT product line which comprises award-winning IP audio codecs and multiplexers complements Audemat’s existing product line of transmitters (sold under the brand name Ecreso) and monitoring site products.

The result is a formidable new coalition within the industry offering uniquely integrated and easy to use solutions. “A large number of Radio and TV broadcast customers are looking for simple solutions to guarantee the interoperability between different technical ‘bricks’. In APT, we have found not only an extremely complementary product offering but the industry-leading solution.” states Bruno Rost, President of the Audemat Group.

“The quality of the APT team and their ability to gather market intelligence, listen to their customers’ needs and to develop product accordingly, convinced us to pursue this opportunity. Therefore, the company’s operational management will remain unchanged“, states Jean-Baptiste Roux, newly appointed President to the APT board. “APT has been consistently growing in double digits over the years, and we are convinced that we will continue on this growth curve.” adds Roux.
"We are excited by the synergies that will stem from combining Audemat and APT products and the solutions we shall be able to offer our customers in the next few months” explains Kevin Campbell, Sales Director for APT. “The marriage of APT’s innovative, cutting-edge codec technology and Audemat’s breadth of broadcast solutions and experience will enable us to strengthen our R&D capabilities and expand our reach into new markets.”
Campbell adds, “Audemat share our commitment to customer-driven innovation and professional quality and I have no doubt that, working together, we can deliver greater choice and service to the broadcast community worldwide.”

The objective of the newly formed group is to exceed 25M€/$32M in 2010 and become a major player in strategic markets.

Commenting on the successful conclusion of the deal with the Audemat group, Noel McKenna, CEO of APT Licensing Ltd, said: “Speaking on behalf of the staff and the board, I am sincerely delighted about this perfect match with the Audemat group. APT’s broadcast hardware division has a powerful synergy with the capabilities, ambitions and culture of the Audemat group, and complements and strengthens Audemat’s value proposition to broadcasters and telecoms operators. We wish our colleagues from the broadcast equipment division and its management team every success in its new future within the Audemat group.”

The new board of executive directors consists of: Mark Weir as General Manager, Kevin Campbell as Sales Director and Greg Massey as Technical Director. Jean-Baptiste Roux is appointed President of the board of Directors.
