Combined receiver and DVB-T monitoring unit for ultimate reliability

Audemat announced today that they are introducing at BROADCAST ASIA 2008 booth 8G2-03 two new DVB-T products: T3020 and T2005.

About T3020

The T3020, “integrated DVB front-end”, is an innovative “All-In-One” equipment for remultiplexing. Indeed, the T3020 is able to integrate up to four different receivers (Satellite, terrestrial IP or ASI) and able to multiplex new content coming from these receivers. In order to ensure of the quality of this new transmission, the T3020 integrates all the monitoring functions of the T2005: quality analysis of a TV transmitter, RF and MPEG 2-TS analysis of the parameters at any point of the rebroadcasting chain.
The T3020 is revolutionary as it offers many features within the same unit at a very attractive price” states Jean-Luc Giraud, Manager of this project. “It performs very accurate monitoring as the unit receives the data from the embedded receivers, the unit is capable of identifying quickly any problems and communicating the information to technical personnel” states Nicolas Boulay VP of Engineering for Audemat.

Communication

Access to configuration, measurement results and alarm status are accessible remotely over a TCP/IP network on an Ethernet interface using HTTP, FTP and SNMP protocols. The embedded software can be easily updated remotely through FTP and HTTP. Other interfaces like RS232 and dry contacts (closure on alarms) are standard.

Typical configuration

A typical T3020 configuration would have the unit receiving national services from satellite and adding regional content received either from satellite or from a local distribution network (optical fiber link,…): the incoming streams are then remultiplexed before broadcasting.

About T2005

The T2005 is designed for monitoring digital terrestrial transmitters. It performs real-time RF transmission quality measurements, MPEG2 stream analysis according to TR 101 290, MPEG2 services decoding and remote-controlled alarms management through Ethernet TCP/IP interface.
