New "Radio-All-In-One" Product From WorldCast Systems to be launched at NRB 2010

Audemat's Digiplexer Range expands to offer broadcasters new cost-effective option for transmitter site operation.

WorldCast Systems, comprising leading broadcast brands APT, Ecreso and Audemat, will launch a new “Radio All in One” product at the upcoming NRB Convention in Nashville, March 1st-2nd2010.

The latest addition to Audemat’s “Radio All in One” range, the 1 Band version of the ever-popular Digiplexer 2/4, will be available for demonstration at WorldCast System’s booth 910 at the NRB.

The “Radio All in One” range is well respected amongst radio broadcasters for delivering many savings by combining key functions such as audio processing, RDS encoding, stereo encoding, audio back-up and I/O remote control in a single chassis. Recognizing that the majority of stations will perform their main audio processing operation at the studio site, the new 1 band unit has been specifically designed for transmitter site operation. It combines all the traditional features of a “Radio All in One” product with only final limiting and Automatic Gain Control on the Audio Processing side.

“This latest innovation within the Audemat product line increases yet further the cost savings we can offer broadcasters who are understandably cautious in these difficult times,” states Christophe Poulain, President of WorldCast Systems Inc.

“Typically a broadcaster would have to purchase between 5 and 6 separate pieces of equipment to do what the Digiplexer 2/4 performs in a single 1U case. Our innovative approach saves money, rackspace and effort, all of which are currently at a premium in the broadcast industry. Now, with the 1 Band version, broadcasters have a flexible option which enables them to purchase a system that is tailored to the needs of their network without spending more than they need to.”

Should a broadcaster’s requirements change, the Digiplexer 2/4 can be upgraded from 1 Band to 2 or 4 Band option by means of a simple software upgrade.

At the NRB show in May, WorldCast Systems will be exhibiting APT codecs, Ecreso Transmitters and a range of essential broadcast equipment such as signal monitors, RDS encoders and remote control devices from Audemat, in addition to the Digiplexer 2/4.

To make a demonstration appointment with WorldCast Systems at booth 910 or for further enquiries on the Digiplexer 2/4 and “Radio All in One” range of products, please contact Fabricio Sanabria, WorldCast Systems Inc, on (305) 249 3110 or ussales@worldcastsystems.com

WorldCast Systems Showcase Audemat Audio Monitoring & Ecreso FM Transmission at NAB Radio Show

New-Look Group Highlights Full Range of AM, FM & HD Solutions in Philadelphia - Miami, 18th September 2009-

WorldCast Systems, the newly-rebranded group comprising leading broadcast brands, Audemat, Ecreso and APT will be showcasing a wide range of new and updated products for professional radio applications at the 2009 NAB Radio Show.

Offering both stand-alone solutions and complete turnkey systems for the studio, transmitter site and coverage area, WorldCast Systems Inc works with broadcasters to deploy reliable and cost-effective solutions for the delivery, transmission and monitoring of AM, FM and Digital Radio throughout the US.

Debuting at this year’s Radio Show will be a new version of Audemat’s extremely successful HD Radio modulation monitor, the Goldeneagle HD. Relied upon by broadcasters throughout the US, the GOLDENEAGLE HD performs real-time monitoring of the quality and continuity of multiple FM, AM analog and HD programs and notifies the relevant personnel of any problems by sending an alarm.

Goldeneagle HD 2.0 offers a new hardware platform and a new HD Receiver for the decoding, monitoring and streaming of advanced HD Data. This new version, which also supports advanced RDS monitoring, enables broadcasters to comprehensively and continually supervise the performance of the data channel and ensure that lucrative services such as HD traffic and iTunes tagging operate without a hitch. With iBiquity HDP support, system settings such as analog audio diversity delay can be automatically set according to operating conditions.

Goldeneagle HD 2.0 offers much more than monitoring – it also provides powerful transmitter remote control. Supplied as standard with the unit, Audemat’s Scripteasy V2 software is a powerful graphical tool that enables the user to easily create complex scripts and routines for remote control and monitoring. Scripteasy’s Easylink package provides an API and pre-written scripts and views for the Harris Z Platinum series and the Ecreso FM Transmitter line.

Also featured at the Radio Show will be Ecreso’s new line of FM Transmitters.
Based on a modular, hot-swappable architecture, the new line is composed of a series of 1kW amplifiers, each of them redundant and offering 2 MOSFETs with an independent power supply. This new line provides broadcasters with a cost-effective, reliable and space-efficient option for FM transmission.

Ecreso also offer the industry’s only ‘All in One’ FM transmitter solution which combines a 1, 20 or 100W FM exciter/transmitter with powerful digital audio processing, stereo encoding, RDS encoding, audio back-up, I/O remote control and TCP/IP connectivity – all in a slimline 3U enclosure.

At the Radio Show, visitors can see the new advanced audio back-up feature on the Next FM (also available on the Digiplexer series) which enables a broadcaster to playout audio files in MP3 and .WAV format from a 40Gb hard drive should the audio input fail. The music can be easily organized in up to 10 playlists and scheduled for play back with configurable cross fading between each audio file.

For those interested in audio delivery, the firm will be showcasing the new WorldCast Equinox which is the latest addition to APT’s range of IP Audio Codecs. It was introduced earlier this year at NAB where it was honoured with a “Cool Stuff” Award from Radio World in recognition of the wide range of professional features it offered at a very affordable price. As well as IP audio transport, the WorldCast Equinox also offers an X.21 interface, two BRI ports, a wide range of algorithms and multiple levels of redundancy.

“The combined product portfolio and expertise of Audemat, Ecreso and APT means that we can offer fully integrated and reliable broadcast systems for audio delivery, transmission and monitoring within a wide range of budgets,” states Christophe Poulain, President of WorldCast Systems Inc. “
With a new-look for our group and an extensive range of professional and affordable broadcast solutions, we are really looking forward to meeting with broadcasters at the NAB Radio Show and discussing how we can help them with their current requirements.”
WorldCast Systems incorporating Audemat, Ecreso and APT will be exhibiting at Booth 433, NAB Radio Show, Philadelphia, September 23rd-25th.

Audemat add MPEG-4 Support to Navigator DVB-T/H

Industry-Leading Mobile Measurement Tool Showcased at IBC 2009

Bordeaux, France, 1st September 2009, - Audemat (www.audemat.com) is to announce significant new functionality including MPEG-4 support on its renowned range of Mobile Metering equipment for Digital TV at the 2009 IBC exhibition.

The company’s successful Navigator DVB-T/H is already the industry-standard system for mobile measurement for both DVB-T and DVB-H with hundreds of units already deployed by broadcast regulators and broadcasters worldwide. Now, as more and more countries plan to offer H.264/AVC MPEG-4 for the delivery of HD services over DVB-T, the Navigator system is updated to also offer compatibility with MPEG-4 video coding.

Used to conduct mobile measurement campaigns on foot or in a vehicle, the Navigator DVB-T/H enables real-time measurement of RF parameters and MPEG data as well as content monitoring, display and recording. All information is stored complete with GPS coordinates to enable extensive analysis of coverage performance and the export of results to software mapping applications. A single antenna receiver is also added to the feature set of the Navigator DVB-T/H which now supports both single and diversity modes.

“The addition of MPEG-4 support to the Navigator DVB-T/H ensures that we continue to offer professional, practical solutions to assist those working in the vanguard of Digital TV” explains Jean Baptiste Roux, Group VP Sales. “In each of the 35 countries where DVB-T is currently on air, broadcasters have selected the Navigator DVB-T/H as the test equipment of choice for mobile measurement campaigns. Now, with this latest update, we have a similarly comprehensive solution for those involved in the rollout of DVB-T in conjunction with MPEG-4.”

Nicolas Boulay, Audemat’s VP R&D and product, commented, “The breadth of data measured by the Navigator DVB-T/H and the indepth analysis offered makes it the ideal tool not only for broadcasters commissioning transmitter networks but also for broadcast authorities who need to ensure compliance with regulations. When it was first released, the Navigator DVB-T/H set a new standard in mobile measurement and now, with the addition of support for MPEG-4, the unit continues to be the best technical solution for digital TV measurement.”

Existing users can upgrade their system to support MPEG-4 by simply purchasing an optional software module with no hardware modifications necessary.

The Navigator and Goldeneagle ranges from Audemat offer mobile measurement and signal monitoring of a wide range of current broadcast technologies including AM, FM, HD Radio, DAB/DAB+/T-DMB, ATSC, DVB-SH, DVB-T and DVB-H. As part of the newly announced WorldCast Systems group comprising Audemat, Ecreso and APT, the company is able to supply complete end-to-end solutions for the transport, transmission and monitoring of Radio and Television signals.

Ecreso Launch New DAB/DMB Transmitter Range at IBC 2009

Full DMB Transmission and Monitoring Systems now Available from WorldCast Systems

Bordeaux, France, 1st September 2009, - Ecreso (www.ecreso.com), the leading European transmitter manufacturer will launch its extensive new range of high performance transmitters for DAB, DAB+ and DMB at IBC 2009. As part of the newly announced WorldCast Systems group comprising Ecreso, Audemat and APT, the company is now able to supply end-to-end transport, transmission and monitoring solutions for DAB and DMB applications.
Based on same modularity, efficiency and reliability that have made Ecreso’s FM transmitters extremely successful with many major broadcasters worldwide, the new DMB range provides broadcasters with a professional and affordable solution for their migration to Digital Radio transmission.
Commenting on the IBC launch, Jean Baptiste Roux, Group VP Sales said, “We see the DMB transmitter range as a natural extension of our successful FM transmitter portfolio and anticipate a high level of demand from our customer base worldwide. Our R&D department has worked hard to deliver an unrivalled combination of efficiency, modularity, reliability, performance and affordability that makes this range a “must” for those establishing a DMB transmitter network.”
The new range takes a modular approach to power output with each of the seven available power classes from 150W up to 2.4kW based around a basic 300W amplifier. As well as offering greater flexibility in configuration, the modular architecture ensures that, should one unit fail, the transmitter will remain on air with a significant power output. Redundant power supplies and UPS offer even greater protection and reliability.

Broadcasters can select from a range of different exciters including the exceptionally versatile Helios DMB offering support for all DAB modes, MFN or SFN network operation, ETI management as well as advanced remote control and monitoring via IP and SNMP.

State-of-the-art features on the DMB range include ETI over IP (EDI) for remote updates of the exciter and remote monitoring of all main EDI parameters and Adjustable Pre-correction to deliver automatic performance enhancements. With an efficiency rating of around 30%, the DMB transmitter range offers performance levels unparalleled in the industry and enables significant savings in the cost of ownership. In the high power classes, broadcasters can opt for water-cooling as an alternative to air-cooling; a more efficient approach which can effectively double the lifetime of your transmitter.
All transmitters in the new DMB range include monitoring, remote control and interface via IP/SNMP to a single monitoring network.
Ecreso, together with leading broadcast brands Audemat and APT, is part of the newly-launched WorldCast Systems group which offers complete turnkey solutions for both radio and TV broadcasters. The group can design a tailored and comprehensive end-to-end DMB broadcast system incorporating the delivery of digital audio from the studio to the transmitter site using APT codecs, a professional DMB transmission system using the new Ecreso range and an extensive range of signal monitoring and mobile measurement equipment from Audemat to ensure that your DAB, DAB+, T-DMB network complies with expectations.
Roux explains, “With the combined experience and expertise of three industry-leading brands, WorldCast Systems can now offer a full service to those entering the DAB/DMB marketplace. From the studio to the

transmitter site and right through to the coverage area, we have a wide range of solutions for digital radio transmission.”
“At IBC, we’ll be demonstrating our new DMB transmitter range, digital audio codecs and our full range of measurement and monitoring solutions and would be delighted to provide advice to those with an interest in this area.”

New Corporate Name and Image Unveiled for Audemat, APT & Ecreso at IBC 2009

Rebranding Reflects Group’s Strategic Vision of Supplying Integrated Broadcast Systems

4th September 2009, Bordeaux-Merignac, France - The International Broadcast Group composed of leading brands Audemat, APT & Ecreso will unveil a dynamic new group identity and updated image at this year’s IBC. The rebranding is designed to reflect the group’s visionary strategy of providing professional, integrated solutions to broadcasters at every step along the broadcast chain.
Each of the three main brands is being treated to a fresh new logo and will be united under the group name “WorldCast Systems”.

Commenting on the launch, Group President, Bruno Rost states, “The new “WorldCast Systems” name reflects our ability to supply complete turnkey broadcast systems to customers worldwide and our new image and branding reflects our professional, unified approach to the market.”

“WorldCast Systems is a dynamic new force in the international broadcast market. We can harness the collective expertise and extensive product portfolio of several leading broadcast brands to offer our customers a complete service for their radio and TV installations.”

Jean Baptiste Roux, Group VP Sales adds “We recognise that times are tough for many broadcasters who have reduced resources to plan and equip their networks. Our overriding aim is to simplify the process for these customers; work together with them to study all requirements and challenges and provide a fully integrated and tailored solution. Our extensive portfolio comprises solutions from the studio site, right through the transmitter site and into the coverage area for monitoring and measurement.”

The WorldCast Systems name bears the strap line “deliver > transmit > monitor” outlining the three key areas of competency of the group. APT codecs deliver broadcast-grade audio and video between locations over a variety of different links, Ecreso transmitters offer professional, efficient distribution of Radio and TV terrestrial signals and the Audemat range provides a range of monitoring and measurement tools for a wide variety of broadcast technologies. The group also offers essential broadcast equipment such as audio processors, RDS encoders and remote facility management.

The launch of the new name and branding follows the acquisition in March this year of the Northern Irish based company, APT codecs, which completed the missing link between studio and transmitter site in the group’s expanding portfolio.

Rost adds, “Following the APT acquisition and also that of Ecreso in 2006, we have been continually streamlining our internal processes in line with the group’s strategic vision of supplying integrated broadcast systems. Now, it is time to also streamline and refresh our external profile. The name and branding we have chosen will demonstrate to the market our new strategic focus, the wide range of our capabilities and our refreshed, professional approach.

Rost will officially launch the new look at a celebration on the group’s IBC Stand, 8.B58 on Saturday 12th September at 5pm.

Visitors to the show should note that the group will be found in the exhibitor directory under “Audemat”.

Navigator CMMB is Industry’s First Professional Mobile Metering Unit

Based on Audemat’s highly successful Navigator range, this new unit is a state-of-the-art mobile metering system that enables wide scale coverage analysis for CMMB networks.

With the ongoing roll-out of CMMB by the China Satellite Mobile Broadcasting Corporation (CSMBC), the Audemat’s Navigator system enables broadcasters to verify actual coverage results, ensure high quality content is received by the target audience and validates compliance with all parameters established in the CMMB standard.

Real-time measurements such as RF Levels, S/N, LDPC Error & Total and BLER are displayed complete with GPS coordinates. An optional Test & Measurement package is also available for in-depth testing of high level RF, Shoulders, MER, Spectrum or Constellation analysis.

In addition to real-time display, results are automatically logged and can be downloaded to a PC on completion of the campaign for further analysis. The data can be easily exported in a variety of different formats for display on mapping tools such as Google Earth, MapPoint and most popular simulation software where it can be compared with predicted coverage.
