With an installed base of over 5000 FM transmitters worldwide, Ecreso have an excellent reputation for high performance broadcast technology. The new range incorporates a state-of-the-art digital modulator, a new, modular and highly efficient 2.5kW amplifier and the ability to create sophisticated 1+1 and N+1 redundancy solutions.

Commenting on the launch of this new FM range, Nicolas Boulay, Chief Technical Officer with WorldCast Systems, states, “Our new FM transmitters incorporate cutting-edge digital technology and optimum modularity and control. High Performance Digital Modulator

A key innovation in Ecreso’s new FM Transmitter range is the Helios digital FM exciter. This new unit incorporates digital signal processing techniques to ensure a high degree of accuracy, low noise, low distortion and even better performance.  With a built-in stereo encoder and the option of a built-in RDS encoder, this richly-featured digital exciter generates an FM signal of the highest integrity with either 20W or 100W output.

The new Helios is also incorporated into Ecreso’s highly innovative “Radio All in One” unit, the Next FM. This integrated and hugely powerful product is a single 3U high rack-mounted unit that combines the benefits of the new digital exciter with core broadcast functionality such as stereo encoding, RDS encoding, HQSound® audio processing, audio backup and remote facility control.

Efficient New 2.5kW Amplifier

Another key component of the new FM transmitter range from Ecreso is the revamped Goliath amplifier module which offers individual power supplies for each internal 750W mosfet  and full monitoring and control for improved reliability as well as reduced power consumption for greater efficiency. The Goliath is available in 750W, 1.5kW and the all-new 2.5kW format; a modular approach enabling the creation of high power FM systems of up to 10kW.

1+1 & N+1 Redundancy

For optimum reliability, Ecreso’s new FM transmitter range can enable a range of redundancy applications including 1+1 and N+1 scenarios.  Combining the expertise of Audemat, the remote control and monitoring division within WorldCast Systems, with the transmission experience of Ecreso, the new range offers a highly flexible approach to the management of large broadcast networks.
1+1 redundancy can be implemented on Ecreso’s FM range using Audemat’s highly-regarded Scripteasy control software with no need for an external control unit.  For full flexibility and expert N+1 redundancy, Ecreso’s central management unit, Nephtys V2 offers a highly professional substitution controller with full remote management capabilities.

The IP Audio Silver has been designed as an inexpensive unit for the delivery of broadcast-grade audio over IP networks and is ideally suited for Studio Transmitter Links in smaller radio stations or for large scale audio distribution requiring multiple units.

While the IP Audio Silver may be a low-cost option, it does not compromise on the core features required by professional broadcast.  Offering AES/EBU or analogue audio and the option of linear or compressed audio on professional XLR connectors, the IP Audio Silver maintains optimum audio quality. Likewise, in terms of reliability, the unit is designed around a DSP-based architecture, avoiding the many problems associated with generic PC-based hardware. Optional redundant power supplies and the ability to playout audio from an integrated SD card slot in case of audio failure all work to ensure that a radio station can stay on air whatever the circumstances.
 
The unit’s extensive functionality is neatly packed into a compact unit which occupies half the space of a 1U 19” rack. As such, the IP Audio Silver is available to purchase in either a rugged compact case or rack mounted (two units will fit side-by-side on a 1U panel).  Controlled via a web-browser or SNMP, the unit also offers optocoupled inputs and relay outputs for control or signalling alarms.

Audemat Goldeneagle ISDBTFirstly, new within Audemat’s TV monitoring product line is the GOLDENEAGLE ISDB/T which will debut at the 2010 NAB show.

Designed principally for those Latin American countries who are adopting the ISDB-Tb standard, the GOLDENEAGLE ISDB/Tb allows stations to ensure that their network continuously complies with legislation and their expectations by monitoring up to  40 ISDB-Tb signals.

The unit can be used to perform RF and MPEG monitoring over the air or, for transport stream monitoring, over an ASI input.  For those wishing to check signal strength and quality in the field, an optional service coverage analysis pack is available offering 12V DC operation and external GPS. Readings from the field can then be exported into mapping software packages such as Google Earth for further analysis.

In addition to ISDB-Tb monitoring, the GOLDENEAGLE ISDB-Tb also offers a complete solution for remote facility management. With optional GPIOs, Audemat’s Scripteasy software and the potential for API control of DTV transmitters, the GOLDENEAGLE ISDB-Tb brings extensive control and monitoring capabilities to a transmitter site.

With IP-based communications, the GOLDENEAGLE ISDB-T can be controlled remotely using the user-friendly software supplied or an SNMP-based network software package such as Audemat’s Broadcast Manager.

At NAB 2010, Audemat will also launch a new version of the Goldeneagle ATSC, a complete solution for Digital TV signal monitoring that is unique within the industry.

With GOLDENEAGLE ATSC version 3.0.1, Audemat add MPEG monitoring of an ASI transport stream to the existing capabilities enabling RF & MPEG monitoring of up to 40 broadcast ATSC signals.

The new version of the GOLDENEAGLE ATSC is also available with an additional enabling service coverage analysis of ATSC signals in the field. With 12V DC operation and external GPS, this option allows broadcasters to view the signal strength and quality in the actual areas of reception. To mark the occasion, the WorldCast Systems group are holding a party on their booth C751 on the Tuesday evening during the NAB convention.

With a significant installed base throughout the United Audemat Goldeneagle HDStates, the GOLDENEAGLE HD has for several years been the preferred tool of broadcasters needing critical, real-time information about their HD, AM and FM signals. A key element in its success is its feature-rich architecture which offers an optional spectrum analyzer/digital demodulator and transmitter remote control capabilities in addition to the core modulation monitor.

The new GOLDENEAGLE V2 adds significant additional functionality in both hardware and software to this already feature-packed unit. On the software side, the innovative V2 offers three key new benefits to broadcasters:

  • Advanced RDS Monitoring Capabilities
    The GOLDENEAGLE HD V2 now offers analysis of RDS groups distribution, AID monitoring, and the remote streaming of raw RDS data.
  • Advanced Monitoring of HD Data
    With the ability to monitor many new HD data signals such as UFID (iTunes HD Tagging), IBOC BER and PAD, the GOLDENEAGLE HD V2 offers the broadcaster a highly detailed insight into their network and, the opportunity to take corrective action quickly. For example, with PAD monitoring, the Goldeneagle HD V2 can be configured so that an alarm is triggered if the PAD fails to change.
  • Support for Scripteasy V2
    The GOLDENEAGLE HD V2 can be utilised as a powerful facility control with or without the addition of input/output interfaces. Scripteasy V2, the revolutionary software application supplied with the GOLDENEAGLE HD V2 allows for easy graphical scripting to fully automate the process of event triggering on out-of-tolerance conditions. This new version also supports SNMO communication for control and monitoring of other devices on the network.

On the hardware side, the GOLDENEAGLE V2 offers a new HD tuner enabling detailed HD data monitoring such as presence of services and MIME types as well as enabling the streaming of raw HD data. 
The GOLDENEAGLE V2 is available as a brand new unit or as a software / hardware upgrade for existing GOLDENEAGLE customers.

For added reliability, the WorldCast Astral offers redundant power supplies and an exciting new audio back-up suite.  Should the main IP link go down, the WorldCast Astral’s Audio Back Up package allows a station to continue to broadcast from either static files stored on an SD card within the unit, or, direct from a SHOUTcast stream.  The sophistication of the unit’s back-up is such that it enables the user to manage multiple (up to 10) playlists, schedule specific files to play at specific times and even use contact closures to trigger file playout. 

For easy and extensive control of your WorldCast codec network, broadcasters can utilize either APT’s highly intuitive Codec Management System (CMS) Software (supplied as standard) or an optional web browser accessible through a separate IP link. However, the power of the WorldCast Astral goes far beyond that of the codec network. Using Audemat’s Scripteasy V2 software, the Astral enables remote control of a wide range of SNMP-enabled equipment at the transmitter site.  The powerful graphical interface enables the creation of scripts and automatic routines to monitor devices and trigger changes on units such as audio processors, satellite receivers, RDS encoders and transmitters as well as numerous routers, servers and switches.
